Commonly known as Boxing day, and its a day that always reminds me on my undergraduate years in Winnipeg. My first experience on white christmas, brings me some good experience in Winnipeg, Canada.
It was close to -32 celcius with little snow, its was a holiday hence most of us, foreign students plan to make a trip to the shopping mall (50mins bus ride). As expected not many of the store open but the electronic store was open (i forgot it was Circuit city...or something), many people line up before the store open, we were curious... until we found out that they were lining up to return the goods (christmas presents that they received as gift but maybe duplicated or not needed). [side note: also many asian students line up to return the games or electronics they bought for christmas, you know, dont have the money but would like to get one but will return within 30 days to get full refund.)
This year, my parents-in-law spent their christmas with us. As usual, this is not a big day locally although most stores stay closed for the day. However, it was a bit of relieve (as have some extra helper as babysitter) and warmth (stay with family). Its always great to stay close with family during special occasions like this.
Couple more days, it will mark the end of 2005 and the begining of 2006... the year will soon past and left us with memories, where new year will follow and begin with hopes fill our hearts.
Time for 2006 resolutions... two of my resolutions for 2006 are => Bridge the gap on thought process with my mentor (for corporate issues) and live healthier and happier.
What about you? :)
