Step my first foot into QBM (Queen'sBay Mall) at 9am Dec 1 2006. WoW, its Big and err.. wow, its quite 'blank'. It took me 20 minutes to walk from one end (south) to the north. The layout and the hallway are wide to shop comfortably like Gurney Plaza. Except for ground and 1st floor, 70-80% of the stores at upper floor are not ready but occupied. It does feel a bit like BUOU (Bandar Utama One Utama), the new wing except its longer yet 'slimmer'.
Apart from common stores (which already available in Penang), Jusco is the only stores thats ready (i guess that's why they plan for 1st Dec opening). Car Park are not all ready so you will end up parking outside of the mall, closer to the south entrance of the mall which can look for Pulau Jerejak. Mango/MNG is ready but Borders are not. The Cafe's are mostly ready so which provide another 'expensive' lunch/dinner venue for us.
I did checked out the toilet... and its still half done, hopefully the ladies will be better :P. There still lots of renovation work being done. GAPs, Oshkosh... are not ready.. Skin Food is here at the Lower Ground floor... TGI's Friday not ready as well from the look for it so hope it will be.. (i like their's brownies and steak)
My gut feeling, we wont able to experience much until 1st Jan 2007.
Others: KFC (WIP), McD, Nandos, Breeks, Coffee Bean, Manhattan Fish Market (WIP), Baskin Robbins, Soya King, Laksa, Johnny's Rest, Dave's Deli, Chicken Rice Shop, Chopper Board, Sushi King.... Levis, Dockers, SenQ, Sub, Vince&Co, Body Shop, Swatch Shop, Apple's Switch (formerly knowsn as AppleCenter), G2000, Lo Hong Ka, Gap Kids, Osim, House of Notebook, Strawberry, Kenny Rogers,... oh, ya, the cinema- GSC is not open yet as well...
I spent the next hour at Starbuck, my favorite store. They are open but WiFi is not available. Their food is different... ya, normally they source from the same vendor but this store is not, so i tried out one of the dishes - not bad :)
Well, lets hope there will be more surprise soon.
